Welcome to Service Dogs of Southern Nevada (SDSN). By accessing our website, submitting an application, participating in training, or using any of our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility for Services

  • SDSN provides service dog training and support to eligible individuals, including veterans, first responders, and persons with ADA-recognized disabilities.

  • Eligibility for training services requires completion of an application, evaluation, and acceptance into the program.

  • SDSN reserves the right to approve or deny any application based on available resources and program suitability.

2. Service Dog Requirements

  • Dogs must be evaluated for temperament, health, and training potential before entering the program.

  • SDSN reserves the right to deny training for dogs that exhibit aggressive, unsafe, or unstable behavior.

  • All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and in good health before training can begin.

3. Training Terms

  • Training is conducted in a hands-on, one-on-one format with the handler and the dog.

  • A minimum training period of 12 months is required for full service dog certification.

  • Handlers must commit to attending all scheduled sessions, participating in homework, and following SDSN’s training methods.

  • Certification requires successful completion of Public Access Testing and task proficiency evaluation.

4. Handler Responsibilities

  • Handlers are responsible for the daily care, socialization, and training follow-through of their dog.

  • Handlers agree to use humane and ethical training tools and techniques as taught by SDSN.

  • Handlers are responsible for transportation to and from training sessions and events.

5. Funding and Donations

  • SDSN is donation-funded. Clients may be offered a personal fundraising page to help support their training journey.

  • All donations raised through SDSN’s platforms are considered charitable contributions to the organization and are non-refundable.

  • SDSN does not guarantee full funding for every applicant but will assist in fundraising efforts to the best of its ability.

6. Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Once training has commenced, SDSN does not issue refunds for training services.

  • In the event of medical or behavioral disqualification of a dog, services may be paused, reevaluated, or discontinued.

  • Clients may withdraw from the program at any time but will not receive a refund for services already rendered or funds donated.

7. Code of Conduct

  • All clients, volunteers, and team members are expected to act respectfully and professionally.

  • SDSN reserves the right to discontinue services if a handler demonstrates abuse, neglect, unsafe handling, or repeated failure to adhere to training guidelines.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • SDSN is not responsible for injury, damage, or loss resulting from participation in training or use of trained service dogs.

  • Handlers assume all responsibility for their dog’s behavior and adherence to public access laws.

9. Privacy Policy

  • SDSN respects your privacy. Personal information will only be used internally to manage your service and fundraising efforts.

  • We do not sell or share your information with third parties without your written consent, unless required by law.

10. Modifications to Terms

  • SDSN reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of services constitutes agreement to any revised terms.
